SHIRAZ VS. CABERNET: THE FACE OFFENING $180.00 WAS $600.00

SHIRAZ VS. CABERNET: THE FACE OFFENING $180.00 WAS $600.00
Unlike the film Face/Off in which the central protagonists successfully swap faces and identities, you are never going to mistake a Shiraz for a Cab, even if you swap the labels. Unlike Cage and Travolta in the film they play nicely too… by themselves and even when blended together.
Zilzie Ferghana Shiraz 2019 (RRP $50.00)
Shiraz and Cab – it’s not really a face off or a fight. Different though they are, these 2 varieties really work well together - alone and when blended, plus both are arguably more finely honed character actors than Cage and Travolta… here’s the goss on each of them… Zilzie Ferghana Langhorne Creek, McLaren Vale and Barossa Valley Shiraz 2019 95pts Kim Brebach Lush with deep, rich black fruits, cedar, liquorice, cigar box and plentiful fine tannins! An exceptional premium Shiraz that works wonderfully now with meat and will improve for up to a decade. Curtis Limited McLaren Vale Shiraz 2016 This is a later bottling of the wonderful Curtis Limited Shiraz which has spent an additional year in oak. It is richer and has more obvious cedary notes than the initial bottling but still has the core of delicious black and blue fruits. Zilzie Regional Reserve Coonawarra Cabernet 2018 Gold Medal A beautifully mid weight, gold winning Coonawarra Cabernet. Juicy red fruits, mint and blackcurrants create a mouthwatering effect, bolstered as they are by ever so slightly bolshy acidity – the finish buttoned down primly with fine tannins. Penna Lane Clare Valley Cabernet 2017 93pts Kim Brebach, 92pts Sam Kim This is a stunning varietal Cabernet built for the long haul. An hour or two of breathing sees a beautiful perfume emerge, which coalesces with rich fruits to form a deep palate packed with violet, blackcurrant, earth and tomato leaf. Perfect with a big lump of protein. Drink any time over the next 15 years.
